10 Great Inexpensive Ideas on Showing Your Partner How Much You
Care
Often in modern relationships there seems to be a tendency to
focus attention on your partner primarily on special occasions -
birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, New Years etc. Unfortunately
this often leads to one occasion having to tide us over until the
next in terms of reaffirming our reasons for being together. If
you poll couples as to what they remember and cherish most about
their relationships, it is never the big occasions
it is always
the little day to day interactions and unexpected kindnesses which
most firmly bind us. In light of this fact, we thought we'd compile
a list of 10 inexpensive things you can do to more fully appreciate
what it is that makes you feel the way you do about each other.
Obviously, while you may feel free to use them verbatim, they are
really intended to give you a starting point to get creative on
your own - have some fun with it!
-
Indoor Picnic This idea is a classic
you can get as elaborate
as you wish - the full deal with basket, blanket, CD with outdoor
sounds - whatever, or you can simply opt to use your imagination.
The great thing about indoor picnics is the lack of ants, mosquitoes,
ravenous dogs, and prying eyes. The proximity to the bedroom
is also a big plus!
-
Outdoor, midnight stargazing picnic Again, picnics = romance
for most, but the idea of injecting a little imagination and
coming up with a twist on a standard idea will leave your partner
pleasantly surprised and often more receptive to whatever other
surprises you may have planned for the evening.
-
Hand write a list of all the things you love about your partner
and mail it to them - even (especially) if they live with you.
This is an incredibly easy thing to do and will a) solidify
in your mind what it is that truly binds you, and b) definitely
let them know you're thinking of them and not taking them for
granted. The principle behind utilizing the postal service is
that it's just that much more romantic. Nobody likes getting
mail anymore
it always consists of depressing bills or
unwanted advertising. It is therefore always a pleasant surprise
when receiving something a little out of the ordinary, and doubly
so when the content is what we have just discussed.
-
Tell your partner you are giving them the perfect evening consisting
of dinner (cooked by you), candle lit bath (you do the bathing),
massage and whatever comes next
cater to them like they
were the king or queen of your little realm and you'll be pleased
with the dividends it pays both short and long term.
-
Curl up by a fire or in bed and read to each other. In today's
hectic world, many like to spend what little downtime they have
reading a good book. The problem is that this activity, by its
very nature excludes your partner from participation. As there
are so few hours in the day which you may devote to recreational
activities, why not combine one with spending time with your
partner? It is also a great way to solidify your bond with them
by exploring common interests. Of course, if your shared reading
tastes include a few risqué tid-bits, all the better!
