Attracting Women in Bars
After having spent many of my early years working in the service
industry - mainly bars, it became quite apparent to me who was and
was not there to find a partner or at least a date for the night.
Bar staff have seen you all do some pretty unusual things, and watching
you trying harder to get lucky as the night progresses can be a
major source of amusement. Upon observing many different techniques
employed in "the barroom games", I have noticed that some
methods are more successful than others. As a result, I thought
I'd list some tips that might help you become more successful in
your endeavors to pick up women.
Venue:
Are you in the right kind of bar to pick up women? You're best
bet is a nightclub as they have the highest ratio of people who
are there to meet people. It's loud and crowded; you can easily
stand beside a woman and start talking to her, and it will be obvious
if she is interested or not. (See Signals) Any bar with live music
or a dance floor is good because as can approach her to dance (See
Dancing). For the over 30 crowd, more sophisticated martini bars
and the like are good places, but the crowd is usually professional
and a little more distinguished, so your moves are going to have
to more polished. The neighborhood pub also has some good opportunities
for several reasons:

women leave their weird guy detectors at home because they
are not expecting to fend them off in such pubs,

these places have a friendly atmosphere, conducive to making
conversation with strangers,

many people are regulars in these places, so it's not too hard
to find out if she is single and/or interested. Taverns and
drinking hall type places are the most difficult to find a date
in as people are mainly there to drink lots, be rowdy and have
fun.

Also, in these establishments, the men usually greatly outnumber
the women. If you are unsure of your local bar scene, ask around,
some bars are renowned as meat markets while others are known
as safe havens for women.
Signals:
It never ceases to amaze me how unobservant most people are. Learn
to read her signals before you make a fool out of yourself. Girls
that are there to pick up a guy are scanning the room. They have
a look of aloofness on their face and their eyes are going back
and forth across the crowd, looking for potential dates. These creatures
generally travel in small groups, usually two or three together.
Sometimes only some of the group is there seeking a man, but upon
closer inspection of them, you will know which one is which. Do
not mistake these girls for other small groups of girls in pubs,
martini bars or taverns that are there to talk about something without
their boyfriends present. These girls are not scanning, and they
are paying close attention to what their friend is saying, often
they are leaning forward to each other and are generally oblivious
as to what is going on around them. Larger groups of girls are generally
on a girl's night out, although sometimes one or more of them may
be hoping for some attention. It can, however, be intimidating for
most men to approach her in front of a fan club.
